Improve your salsa skills with NOSD and establish a foundation on which to build a great salsa dancer starting with the fundamentals.

Founders Mike and Nasha Griffin have created a BRAND NEW series of structured, progressive salsa classes starting with the fundamentals On2 in their Beginner Class at 6:30-7:30pm., followed by NOSD’s Advance Class On2 at 7:30-8:30p.m.

Founder Mike Griffin says no student will be left behind. Classes are structured so students can comprehend ALL material at a comfortable rate before moving on to the next level. For more information, log onto http://classes.nosdinc.com/ and click on “Description, Policy and Cost.”

Come out and join a multicultural crowd for Latin night at Moe’s and dance the nite away to salsa, bachata, merengue, punta, and reggaeton. Doors open at 11p.m. but the crowd gets heavy around midnight. The attire is casual. If you are a salsa dancer, wear your old salsa shoes or street shoes because there maybe a drink or two spilled on the dance floor. Lol! It’s all in fun though.

There is also a cuban style salsa class from 8-9p.m. taught by Ximena Frixione. Walk-in students pay $10. You can also get a $25 discount rate for three classes. For more information email Ximena at noladance@gmail.com

-NOSD will start a NEW Pachanga dance class in March! Stay tune for your information.

-Felipe Estrada of Hispanic Flavor has started a NEW Latin night at Twist! It will take place every other Saturday for now. The venue is classy and located in the lobby of the Lafayette Hotel, 628 St. Charles Ave @ Girod St. 10pm., no cover, and drink specials. Stay tuned for the next scheduled date! Come out and make it a successful event so it can stay around for a long time!

-LRI started a NEW mini series of salsa classes at Crescent Lotus Dance Studio, 3143 Calhoun St. New Orleans, 7:30p.m.-9:30p.m. Check back Sunday for more details.

-New TUESDAY Latin night at Harrah’s Casino inside Masquerade!
It features a live performance by Billboard award winning, Grammy nominated master percussionist Bill Summers with “Jazz Salsa.” Plus, DJ Lemonhead will close out the night. No Cover, 8p.m.-Midnight.

-Gumbo Salsa ended their Latin night at LePhares and started a NEW Tuesday Latin night in the French Quarter. Checkout my Tuesday blog for more details.

-Fredy Omar con su Banda is performing at Bowntown Casino every Sunday, 4132 Peters Rd. Harvey, LA. 7pm.
